Die Stralsunder Marienkirche zählt zu den mächtigsten und schönsten Gotteshäusern Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns und ganz Norddeutschlands. Den kolossalen gotischen Backsteinbau
finanzierten die reichen Handwerker-Zünfte der Hansemetropole.
Die St. Marienkirche wurde im übrigen als größte Pfarrkirche von Stralsund 1298 erstmals erwähnt.
